URBANUPLINK

A studio that publishes its prices, writes its own code, and names the work it refuses - three positions, not three adjectives.

How the work is actually done

The method, and what each choice costs you.

None of this is unusual engineering. It is unusual only in being stated, and in being the same on every project rather than decided per client.

Static output, always
Every page is rendered at build time and served as plain files. There is no database to breach, no plugin to patch, no runtime to fall over under load, and no hosting bill that scales with traffic. What it costs you is that content changes need a rebuild rather than an admin login.
No CMS by default
Most business sites change a handful of times a year, and a CMS added for that is a permanent maintenance liability bought to solve an occasional inconvenience. When a site genuinely changes weekly, a content layer goes into the scope at the brief stage and is priced there.
A design system per project, derived from the market
Before anything is drawn, the sites your buyers already look at are examined - specifically to find the conventions everyone repeats, so the result can avoid them. That is why no two sites built here look alike.
WCAG 2.1 AA as an engineering standard
Contrast, focus visibility, keyboard reach and semantics are checked before release rather than sold as an add-on.
Build output
Static HTML, CSS, JS

Deployable to any host. No Node runtime is required anywhere in the chain.

Accessibility target
WCAG 2.1 AA

Held on every page, including the ones nobody links to.

Third-party scripts
None by default

Analytics, tag managers and chat widgets are added only when you ask for them, and their cost in weight and privacy is stated first.

What gets turned down

Five refusals, with the reasoning.

The short version is on the home page. This is the version with the argument attached, because a refusal without a reason is just a preference.

  1. Installing or customising a theme on your existing CMS

Theme work is a different trade with a different economics. Somebody who does it every day will be faster and cheaper than this studio, and the result will be better. Nothing built here starts from a purchased template, which is the whole reason the prices look the way they do.

  2. Monthly content-marketing or SEO retainers

A retainer with no defined end has no definition of done, which means there is never a moment where the work can be judged. Every engagement here has a scope, a price and a date. Technical SEO is built into a project; ongoing content work belongs with someone who does only that.

  3. Builds where nobody on your side can supply or commission the copy

A site cannot be finished around missing text. Lorem ipsum hides the fact that a section has no argument in it, and the gap surfaces at launch when it is expensive. Either the copy exists, or a copywriter is commissioned before the design system is agreed - and the cost of that sits outside the published price.

  4. Taking over a project that is in dispute with another agency

Ownership of the code, the design files, the domain and the hosting all have to be settled before anything can be rebuilt on top of them. Until that is resolved, any work here inherits a legal problem rather than a technical one.

  5. Any discount without a smaller scope

A price on the price page comes down only when scope comes out with it - fewer revision rounds, fewer pages inside the price, or copy moved to your side. Discounting without removing scope means the shortfall is paid for in attention, which is the one thing a bespoke build cannot afford to lose.

Who you are contracting with

The entity, the jurisdiction and the currency.

URBANUPLINK LTD, Cyprus
Registration number HE 497798, tax identification number 60397750Q, registered office Pavlou Valdaseridi 2A, 1st floor, 6018 Larnaca, Cyprus.
Governing law and jurisdiction
Every engagement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction. That is stated here and in the terms of use rather than buried in an attachment sent after a deposit.
Invoiced in euro
All invoices are issued in euro. There is no second currency and no conversion margin taken on this side.
Contracts are written before work starts
The written scope - page list, timeline, fixed price - is the agreement. Nothing begins on a verbal yes, which protects you at least as much as it protects this studio.

What is promised in writing

Five commitments that come with every project.

Agency sites usually fill this space with counters - years in business, projects delivered, cups of coffee. A counter describes someone else’s project. These describe yours, and each one goes into the written scope.

Every enquiry gets a real answer, not an acknowledgement. If the brief is specific enough, that answer carries a number.

Revision rounds inside a fixed price
Two

A round is one consolidated set of comments from a named decision-maker, not a stream of individual messages. A third round is quoted before it starts.

If an agreed date is missed
5% off the balance per week

Applied to the remaining invoice, capped at 20%, when the delay is on this side rather than waiting on your content or approvals.

What is handed over
Everything

The repository with its full history, the production build, the design system, the domain and DNS control, and every credential. No component is held back to make leaving expensive.

Lock-in
None

The output is static files and ordinary source code. Any competent developer can pick it up, and nothing about the build requires coming back here.

Before you write

Five checks that take about ten minutes.

Adjectives on an agency site cost nothing to write. These checks cost you ten minutes, need no account and no call, and tell you more about the work than any description of it.

Read the source
Open the page source. The markup is semantic and free of page-builder residue, and there is no third-party script on it - no analytics, no tag manager, no chat widget.
Open the network panel
The home page publishes its own weight - JavaScript, CSS, HTML, fonts, the film and requests to other domains. Reload with the developer tools open and compare the numbers against what your browser actually downloads.
Put the mouse away
Tab through any page. Focus stays visible at every step, and every link, field and control can be reached and operated from the keyboard.
Turn on reduced motion
Switch on the reduced-motion setting of your operating system and reload. The scroll-driven film and the transitions stand down, and nothing on the page depends on them.
Read the legal pages
Check whether they are specific or copied. They name the entity, the registered office, what is collected, how long it is kept, and what happens to a deposit if you cancel.

Where and in what language

How a project runs across borders.

Clients
Europe

Predominantly EU-based businesses. A client outside the EU is not a problem; the invoice is the same either way.

Delivery
Remote

Written scope, a reviewable URL from the first week, and consolidated review rounds. No travel is priced in and none is expected.

Language
English

Brief to handover, including documentation and code comments.

Working hours
Monday to Friday, 09:00-18:00

Europe/Nicosia (EET/EEST). Most European clients share at least six working hours with that window.
